EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A man has finally been arrested and indicted in a cold case murder that happened six years ago in East Cleveland.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutors announced the indictment of Jerome Wade Wednesday after the grand jury came back with charges of aggravated murder, kidnapping, burglary and robbery.

Mary Hudson was brutally murdered on Sept. 6, 2006.  Her body was found lying on the bedroom floor of her East Cleveland apartment by a repairman and security guard.

East Cleveland Police say Hudson was strangled and hog-tied with a stocking and a telephone cord.

There were no signs of forced entry and the door to the apartment was locked.  Police say the apartment was ransacked, and a music system and sofa cushion cover were stolen.

"I was praying that they would find the person.  I know that they have a lot of cases and it takes a while for things to happen but at least they didn't forget," said Kathy DeJarnette, Hudson's daughter.

Investigators say Wade's DNA was found under Hudson's fingernails and on the stockings used to tie her up.  After Wade was arrested for a felony, his DNA was put into the state system and was later discovered as a match to Hudson's murder.

Additionally, investigators say Wade's fingerprints were found on a drinking glass inside Hudson's apartment.

Wade is scheduled to be arraigned on December 6, 2012.
