Police ID victim of Kenton Co. crash

MORNINGVIEW, KY (FOX19) -

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Thursday.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. while the car was traveling eastbound in the 600 block of Bracht Piner Road.

Police say the driver, Scott Sears, 21, of Demossville, sustained injuries and was transported to University Hospital by the Piner-Fiskburg Lifesquad. His condition is unknown.

The passenger, Timothy Webster Jr., 27, of Demossville,, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver went off the road, over-corrected, and hit several trees.

"Once you're off, unfortunately what happens most of the time is people over-correct to get back up on the roadway and typically when you see that they're going to go off the opposite side of the roadway they went off initially and that's the case that we had this morning," said Chris Haddle with Kenton County Police.

Police say both men were wearing their seatbelts.
