CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
The University of Cincinnati said Thursday morning that head football coach Butch Jones has withdrawn his name from consideration for the University of Colorado job.
Jones' name has been tossed around for several coaching vacancies, with Colorado at the top of the list.
Colorado was reportedly offering Jones a contract worth $13.5 million over five years. His current contract with Cincinnati is through 2017 and worth $8.6 million, plus incentives.
However, Jones has not said that he is definitely staying in Cincinnati.
The Denver Post, which reported on Wednesday that Jones was coming to Colorado, tweeted at statement on Thursday.
"We believed the story we published online yesterday was accurate. Obviously, the outcome is different," the statement read.
FOX19.com will continue to follow the latest developments.
