CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
We've learned a Cleveland city security camera captured the start of a long chase that ended in deadly gunfire, and we've requested the video.
Last week, Cleveland Police shot and killed a driver and a passenger with 137 shots, and state agents are investigating whether that was justified.
We're told the security tape appears to back up a police claim of how this started: a speeding car passing the justice center. An officer outside said a shot came from that car.
The tape does not include audio. But sources tell us, you see an officer startled. He jumps in his car, and he starts to chase.
Police said repeatedly during the chase shots were fired, and they saw a gun. But no gun was found with the suspects at the scene where the chase ended.
