CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) -
On the same day University of Cincinnati coach Butch Jones withdrew his name from consideration for the open head coaching job at Colorado, he also called a team meeting for Friday morning.
FOX19 learned of the meeting but it's unclear exactly what the meeting is about.
Speculation continues about Jones after the announcement Thursday regarding the Colorado job did not come with any affirmation of his commitment to UC.
Multiple outlets have reported that Jones is now being talked about as a candidate for the open head coaching job at the University of Tennessee.
Neither Jones nor athletic director, Whit Babcock, was available Thursday. A call to Jones' California based agent has not been returned.
Fans outside of the men's basketball game on Thursday evening reacted to Jones not taking the coaching job at CU, as well as the possibility of him moving on to University of Tennessee.
"I hope he sticks around. It'd be nice to have a coach for longer than three years and that's actually doing something decent for the city," said Bearcat fan, Dave Mescher.
The UC Bearcats are scheduled to play in the Belk Bowl against Duke on Dec. 27.
