CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Cincinnati man is behind bars after police say he assaulted a woman so badly that it caused her to be blind in one eye.
Ellis Lofton, 30, was originally charged with misdemeanor domestic violence, but after the woman was examined by hospital staff, it was determined she was blind in her left eye and she will have to have her eye removed. Due to the serious nature of the injury, the misdemeanor warrant was cancelled and refiled as felonious assault.
The alleged assault occurred on Nov. 16. Lofton is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
