An Oxford woman has avoided criminal charges by giving up 30 dogs found at her farm. Butler County Dog Warden Renee Jeffries say several of the dogs were sick, and four had to be put to sleep. The others are getting their shots may be put up for adoption. Jeffries says 52-year-old Anita Baker told authorities she couldn't care for the dogs. All but three are pugs. Most of the dogs were taken to Columbus by Ohio Pug Rescue. Baker is charged with five counts of animal cruelty in connection with an incident in May when officials say they found the dogs without food and water. Jeffries says no charges have been filed in the current incident because Baker turned the dogs over to authorities.
