Leading commuter bike manufacturer, Linus Bike, commends an elderly paperboy recognized in a First Coast News article for pursuing his passion for biking.
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) December 12, 2012
On December 12, Linus Bike responds to a First Coast News article highlighting an 86-year-old man for developing his newly discovered love for biking into a job.
According to the article published on the First Coast News website, 86-year-old Bud Schaefer from Minnesota started biking about four years ago after his children bought him a bike for Christmas. Being 82 at the time, Schaefer insisted the gift was a waste of money. Instead, the article affirms, he discovered a new found passion for biking.
The article stated that Schaefer even got himself a job riding bikes professionally. Well, as a paperboy that is. According to First Coast News, the job requires Schaefer to deliver 37 newspapers from the Rochester-Post Bulletin, around three dozen, each day. He even had to replace the tires due to overuse.
“Some think I have to do this for a living,” Schaefer told First Coast News. “I don't do it for the pay, I'll tell you that much, because there ain't that much in it.”
China Reevers, a representative of the commuter bike manufacturer Linus Bike, said, “This just goes to show you that biking can be a healthy and fun experience for people of all ages.”
The article reveals that Schaefer does use a car to complete his route in inclement weather. However, he often repeats his route on the stationary bike in his home, just because he loves biking.
Linus Bike is a California-based bicycle manufacturer that specializes in making vintage style city bikes and commuter bikes. Not simply a bicycle company, Linus Bike sells a complete line of accessories for the environmentally conscious and for people who have a fondness for European style bicycles and the great tradition of European cycling.
