Infant nearly hit by bullet in home invasion

Police are looking for the suspect who fired a shot during an attempted home invasion on Wednesday night.

Dispatchers say it happened around 9:45pm at the home in the 6000 block of Beechmont Avenue.

Police say the gunman kicked in the rear door of the home then fought with the man inside before firing his weapon. The bullet nearly hit an infant who was in a bassinet. The man inside the home jumped out of a window to escape. The suspect took off on foot in an unknown direction.

A K9 unit and helicopter were both called to the scene to track the suspect, but the search was unsuccessful.

No one was hurt and nothing was taken during the incident. It's unclear if this was a random attack or if the homeowners knew the intruder.

District 2 Police are investigating this case. If you have any information that may help, call CrimeStoppers at 513-352-3040.
