Workers' Comp Fraud Findings

Bureau finds $126 million in fraudulent claims and unpaid premiums.

The state Bureau of Workers' Compensation says it has found more than 126 million dollars in fraudulent claims and unpaid premiums. Tom Wersell directs the bureau's special investigations department. He says investigators looked at three times the number of employers during the most recent fiscal year, compared to previous years. Wersell says investigators also are focusing on doctors and patients who use workers' comp programs to illegally get prescription drugs such as OxyContin.
