CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati councilman Cecil Thomas, chair of the Public Safety Committee, is introducing a motion to install metal detectors at City Hall.

Thomas says the current security protocol, signing a ledger, does not deter violence.

"Anyone could carry a weapon into City Hall," Thomas said in a media release. "As such, the current security protocol used to prevent weapons being brought into City Hall is inadequate."

The Public Safety Committee is scheduled to meet again on Jan. 8 at 2 p.m.
