Cold temps and a non-white Christmas for the Tri-State

(FOX19) -

Astronomical winter has arrived and winter-like weather with it.

FOX19 Chief Meteorologist Steve Horstmeyer says snow showers will taper off and end across the FOX19 viewing area by Friday evening.

A clearing will take place overnight, and the Tri-State will be in for a partly cloudy and cold weekend.

Both Saturday and Sunday mornings will be chilly, dropping into the low 20s. Saturday morning will have breezy winds and continuing wind chills around the 10° mark.

On Monday, Christmas Eve, there may be a few showers, and for those dreaming of a white Christmas, Tuesday looks to be dry, mostly cloudy... and not white.
