City of Montgomery bells rings to honor Newtown victims

Communities around the country honored a request from the Governor of Connecticut on Friday.

The City of Montgomery joined many others in observing a moment of silence for lives lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut last week.

On Monday, Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy called for a moment of silence and church bells to ring exactly one week after the shooting.

Montgomery city leaders gathered for a bell ringing at the Universalist Church on Friday.

The bells rang 26 times, in honor of each life taken in the elementary school tragedy.
