Deputy delivers baby at Speedway station in Trenton

TRENTON, OH (FOX19) -

A Butler County Sheriff's Deputy gave a family an early Christmas present on Monday when he delivered a baby in the back seat of their car.

Heather Fitzgerald was feeling intense labor pains when she pulled into a Speedway station on Trenton-Oxford and called 911. Butler County Sheriff's Deputy Runnells arrived at the station, and while waiting for the Life Squad delivered a baby girl in the back seat of Fitzgerald's Ford Fusion. The baby was born at 4:06 p.m.

Mother and daughter were transported to Fort Hamilton where both are reported to be doing well.
