Kirkpatrick done; Sanzenbacher signed

The Bengals made a significant roster move on Christmas Day.

The team placed CB Dre Kirkpatrick on the Reserve/Injured list. Kirkpatrick, Cincinnati's first selection (17th overall) in the 2012 draft, has been sidelined due to a knee injury. He played in five games this season (Games 8-12), with two tackles on defense and two on special teams.

In his place, the team acquired WR Dane Sanzenbacher on waivers from the Chicago Bears. Sanzenbacher (5-11, 180; Ohio State) is a second-year NFL player.

A Toledo native, he joined the Bears as a college free agent just before 2011 training camp. He played in 16 games with one start last season, with 27 receptions for 276 yards and three TDs. He was on the Bears roster for Games 1-15 this season, playing in five games (10 deactivations) with one catch for seven yards.
