OVER THE RHINE, OH (FOX19) -
The winter shelter in Over the Rhine is now open in full capacity.
The shelter opens at 8 p.m. each night and closes each morning at 6 a.m. It's located at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1528 Race Street.
The shelter will remain open every night until most likely the end of February and will accept everyone,
The Winter Shelter is the effort of several area organizations to provide people who otherwise would be sleeping outside or in unheated homes a safe and warm place.
The shelter is paid for primarily from donations sent by area organizations and people. Those wanting to donate can send checks made payable to the Drop Inn Center with the memo "Warm Hearts." (217 W. 12th St., Cincinnati, OH). All checks with the memo "Warm Hearts" will go directly to running the Winter Shelter.
