HYDE PARK, OH (FOX19) -

Road conditions are quickly improving this morning across the Tri-State. With no new precipitation overnight, road crews were able to treat the streets, preventing much of the standing water from Wednesday's snowstorm from re-freezing.

Just before 9 a.m., Cincinnati streets and highways were wet but not a major problem for drivers. Meanwhile, the Ohio Department of Transportation reported moderately hazardous driving conditions in Butler County, where drivers might encounter some patches of snow and ice. U.S. Highway 27, State Highway 4, and Interstate 75 are the main areas of concern. Conditions will be worse, though, on rural roads.

In Warren County, which had been another spot where authorities were reporting some snow and ice early this morning, conditions were not much of a problem as the morning wore on. Just before 9 a.m., ODOT reported only wet conditions on Warren County's major routes.

Indiana drivers are not so lucky. The Indiana Department of Transportation calls the condition of Interstate 74 near the Indiana/Ohio border "fair." Authorities are warning drivers who must use Interstate 74 in Indiana to watch out for packed snow on the freeway. I-275, as it loops over into Indiana, poses some of the same challenges for drivers.

As far as the weather goes, it's been an uneventful drive for commuters in Northern Kentucky. Much of the pavement was dry, even overnight.

Early morning joggers and dog walkers had it rough in some Cincinnati neighborhoods this morning. Slick, icy sidewalks forced several of them into the street in Hyde Park Square. A couple of joggers slowed down as they approached the square, carefully plodding through the slushy snow on the sides of the street and glazed ice covering pedestrian paths.
