Local student nominated to attend U.S. Air Force Academy

GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A future Air Force Academy recruit was honored by a U.S. congressman on Thursday.

Jacob Webb was nominated by U.S. Representative for Ohio's 1st District, Steve Chabot, to attend the United States Air Force Academy.

A nomination doesn't mean instant acceptance into the academy. However, Webb said it's a big step in the process.

Webb, a student in the Three Rivers Local School District, was honored on Thursday during a reception in the Nathaniel Green Lodge.

He was among the ten students in the 1st Congressional District interviewed by Congressman Chabot.
