The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet geared up for another round of winter weather on Friday.
Daytime crews worked through the afternoon and into the evening to treat roads with salt, in anticipation of forecasted snowfall.
Another team of drivers will begin at midnight, working to keep the roads safe.
Officials said the timing of the storm is working to their advantage, happening in the evening hours and over the weekend with less traffic on the roads.
Crews will work 15 to 20 hours, depending on how long the snow lasts.
