MASON, OH (FOX19) -

Some local athletic clubs helped Tri-State residents get a jump-start on New Year's Resolutions.

The Mason Community Center and Buckeye Running Company teamed up on Monday to host the 3.65-mile Resolution Run.

By running 3.65 miles, event organizers said participants can put the past 365 days behind them and get 2013 started off on the right 'foot'.

The community center also has other events scheduled for the new year, including a ten-week weight loss challenge, called 2013 Empowered to Lose BIG.

Organizers say both members and non-members can participate in weekly weigh-ins, receive newsletters with tips and advice and also get healthy eating tips from a nutritionist.

The weight loss challenge begins January 5th and costs $10.

In addition, free clinics, drop-in group exercises and more will also be held in 2013.

The Mason Community Center is located at 6050 Mason-Montgomery Road.
