Cincinnati, OH (FOX19) - They're expecting a blackout at Fifth Third Arena Monday - in the stands and on the court. The UC basketball team will wear specially designed jerseys made by addidas.
The new Cincinnati uniforms feature solid color blocking
of team logos, word marks and numbers with minimal accent color and shimmer
finish for a bold on-court look. The monochromatic uniforms are a nod to team
unity and pride for the Bearcats' team colors.
The uniform design is similar in spirit to those worn by
select NBA teams on Christmas Day.
"We are excited that we have been chosen once again to
unveil a new adidas uniform," UC head coach Mick Cronin said. "The players are
really looking forward to wearing them. It continues to show that Cincinnati is
a marquee brand on the college basketball landscape."
The Bearcats host Notre Dame Monday. Tipoff is set for 6:30pm. Immediately after the game university president, Dr Santa Ono will have his head shaved, making good on a promise he made earlier this season.
