TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -
An Amber Alert issued for a 13-year-old Tempe girl reported missing Tuesday afternoon has been canceled.
Police said Jazmin Babers was abducted at about 3:30 p.m. by her father, who has a history of mental illness.
More than four hours later, an alert Arizona Department of Public Safety officer saw the SUV that matched the description of the one in the Amber Alert and pulled it over on Interstate 10, west of Quartzsite.
The girl was found safe.
The alleged abductor, 37-year-old Ernest Babers, was arrested. He did not have legal custody of his child.
The girl had been texting her mom from inside the vehicle.
Ernest Babers was headed toward California, Tempe police spokeswoman Molly Enright said.
The vehicle was found to have been stolen in Tucson.
Jazmin was expected to be reunited with her mom in Tempe later Tuesday night.
No other information was immediately available.
