Hot dips are always popular. Use a splash (or two) of Makers Mark, located in Loretto, Kentucky, in a rich hot seafood dip.
8 oz. cream cheese
1 part Maker's Mark® Bourbon
6 1/2 oz. flaked crabmeat
2 tsp. minced onions
1/2 tsp. horseradish
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Sliced almonds
Blend all ingredients except almonds, put in oven-proof dish and sprinkle with sliced almonds. Bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees. Serve with toast rounds.
What to drink with it? An Old Fashioned made with Makers Mark, of course.
1 Orange wheel
1 Maraschino cherry
1 teaspoon Sugar
1.5 ounce Maker's Mark Bourbon
.5 oz Club soda
Garnish: Orange wheel and maraschino cherry
In an Old Fashioned glass, muddle the orange, cherry and sugar. Fill three-quarters of the way with ice and add the bourbon and club soda. Garnish with an additional orange wheel and maraschino cherry.
