CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - City leaders invited national agency officials to Cincinnati on Thursday to tour Cincinnati's sustainability projects.
Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory hosted officials from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
The tour followed the Cincinnati Streetcar Route, visited various housing developments and stormwater projects in Washington Park, and the rain gardens at St. Francis Apartments in the Lick Run Watershed.
Officials say the idea is for national leaders to identify successful projects in Cincinnati, and help bring that success into other cities. A similar tour will be made in Indianapolis on Friday.
The event showcased projects supported by the HUD-DOT-EPA Partnership for Sustainable Communities.
