Check 'N Go employees build bikes for needy kids

MASON, OH (FOX19) - Tri-State children in need received a big surprise on Wednesday, thanks to some local workers.

Check 'n Go employees participated in a team building activity and assembled 28 bicycles. The event was held at the Marriott in Mason.

Company officials say the bike assembly was good practice for employees to work together as a team. However, they didn't reveal who the bikes were for.

Meanwhile, children from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati were also invited to the Marriott, told they were attending an ice cream party.

"We'll actually have the two groups meet and for the first time realize that our associates are building the bikes for the children... And at the same time the kids have no idea they're going to get brand new bikes to leave here today with," said Scott Sedmak of Check 'N Go.

The company who organized the team building exercise for Check 'N Go says these events have helped give more than 12,000 bikes to needy kids.
