3,000 free trees available on Friday

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A local community organization is giving away free trees on Friday.

The Cumberland River Compact is distributing 3,000 large-diameter seedlings from the Tennessee Department of Forestry nursery from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Trees will be available first-come, first-served at the organization's office located at 1312 Third Avenue North in Nashville.

Trees that will be available include yellow poplar, northern red oak, willow oak, red bed, and nuttall oak.

The Cumberland River Compact works to enhance the water quality of the Cumberland River and its tributaries.
