COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -
In a rare moment where the worlds of politics and sports crossed, Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd and South Carolina quarterback Dylan Thompson attended the State of the State address Wednesday night.
Gov. Nikki Haley mentioned the two players as part of her annual speech to discuss her plans for the state during the new legislative session.
The governor introduced the players and congratulated them for helping guide the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Clemson Tigers to twin 11-win seasons.
Thompson tweeted a photo of himself, Boyd, and the governor shortly after the event.
"This state has a lot to be proud of! Two great people," said Thompson in the tweet.
