Fatal restaurant-truck crash.
A North Carolina town is reeling from a crash involving a 14-ton tractor-trailer and a restaurant called "Peggy's Seafood." It happened in Swann, 40 miles southwest of Raleigh. The 16-wheeler rear-ended a stopped car, crossed the center line, hit another car, then plowed through the restaurant wall. When the truck finally stopped, 35 feet of the rig was inside the restaurant. The son of the restaurant's owner was killed. Friends say the family is "completely devastated." Two women having lunch were critically injured. The driver of the truck and another driver involved in the crash are hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening.
