Man executed for stabbing and beating parents to death in drug-fueled rage
A man who dropped his appeals was executed today for bludgeoning and stabbing his sleeping parents after they hid his SUV keys so he couldn't go buy drugs. The 40-year-old was pronounced dead at 10:27 this morning at the Southern Ohio Correction Facility. The execution of Scott Mink by injection is the quickest an Ohio inmate's death sentence has been carried out since the state restored the death penalty in 1981. In his final statement, Mink said he had made peace with his family and God. Just before the execution, Mink gave thumbs up several times to members of his family. Mink pleaded guilty to killing his parents four years ago.
