Football Frenzy Not Operational

Football Frenzy 2013 Participants:

As I'm sure you are aware, the company that hosts the Football Frenzy contest has been experiencing server difficulties.

They have been feverishly working on this issue over the past several days with their engineers pulling all-night repairs to get the systems fully operational.   According to the company, they had a disk drive fail on their NAS (Network Attached Storage) that caused issues with a few of the servers. The main contest web site was unreachable at times when the system tried to correct the issue with the drive.

The faulty hardware was replaced last weekend but the systems have been sporadic due to the rebuilding of the NAS.  At that time they decided to take the systems down to not only give the NAS time to repair, but also allow them the ability to copy the servers to new hardware they have on site.  They were planning to make this migration after the Superbowl, but felt it was critical to do so now to eliminate the issues.

They attempted to restore the system and the contest on Saturday the 19th, only to experience difficulties once again.

With the inability of users to make their selections for the Conference Championship Games, we will not award any points for this week.  Should this problem continue and the contest is not able to accept entries for the Championship week, the contest will abide by the official rules, and will award winners based upon the last successful week of competition.

FOX19 apologizes for this issue, which is out of their control.

We will keep you posted on the status of the contest.
