A total of 86 vehicles were involved in a pileup on I-275 near Colerain Avenue on Monday, in addition to a separate accident on southbound I-75 at Middletown involving up to 50 vehicles. The crashes were caused by sudden snow bursts in the area, causing reduced visibility and icy road conditions between 11:30 a.m. and noon.
Southbound I-75 was reopened just after 3 p.m.
Eastbound I-275 at Colerain Avenue is back open, westbound I-275 is still shut down.
Drivers headed home on SB/WB I-275:
Take SB I-75 and use the Galbraith Road exit, continuing towards WB Ronald Reagan Highway (SR 126). Heading west, SR 126 will meet back up with I-275.
