Wilmington opens warming centers after area power outages

WILMINGTON, OH (FOX19) -

Several Wilmington residents lost power on Tuesday evening.

Clinton County officials said around 1,300 homes were without power, just after 8:30 p.m. By midnight, the number was down to 500 outages.

As a result, two warming centers were opened for those affected:

  1. Municipal building on N. South St. in downtown Wilmington.
  2. Fire Station 2 on Rombach Avenue.

Wilmington is powered by Dayton Power & Light. Crews were notified and are currently working to fix the issue.

No estimate yet on how long it will take until power is restored. The cause of the outages is still unclear.
