AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Detectives say a 59-year-old woman was shot, after flashing her car's headlights at two men walking in the street.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Elma Avenue.

The victim tells officers she was southbound on Elma Avenue and just flashed her lights to warn the men that she was behind them.

The suspects walked off to the side of the road so the victim could pass.

After the victim drove past them, one of the males fired several shots at the victim's vehicle. One bullet penetrated the vehicle and struck the victim in her back, in the upper right shoulder.

The victim was transported to Akron City Hospital where her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The first suspect is tall and dark complexioned, wearing a black or blue coat with a hood. The second suspect was thin and light complexioned.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Akron Police.
