Metro wins lawsuit over fixed limo fares

A group of Nashville business owners lost a lawsuit against the Metro Nashville government over forced minimum fares for hired rides.

The business owners were fighting a city rule that sedan and limo services must charge at least $45.

Some drivers wanted to undercut that price to attract more business, but Metro said the minimum fares were meant to stop illegal taxi services and set a clear line between cab and limo companies.

The rules will stay in place, but the small business owners say they will still fight.
