MT. AUBURN, OH (FOX19) -

A two-story apartment building caught fire on Saturday in Mt. Auburn.

The fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. on Seitz Street.

A family living on the second floor of the building escaped safely. A grandmother, her husband and a one-year-old child were in the building when they smelled smoke. All three of the occupants got out safely.

The first floor of the building is also occupied but the family was not home at the time.

Officials say that the fire was a 'hidden' fire. The fire started between the first and second floors. Fire fighters opened up the walls and ceiling to expose the hidden fire.

Damage has been estimated at $40 thousand.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
