Motorcycle enthusiasts are rolling into the I-X Center for the Progressive International Motorcycle Show.
More and more car owner consumers that are fed up with soaring gas prices are turning their focus to two wheel transportation, when weather permits-- and the industry is listening.
Jim Dusky, with Advanstar Marketing tells 19 Action News, "They took a lot of cues from their automobile industry and put it into these motorcycles. Honda came out with 3 new popular bikes that are more fuel efficient and priced around 6 thousand dollars"
Consumers can't get enough of concept bikes. Buyers are catching on to how "user friendly" several models have become with features such as automatic, no clutch shifting that get 64 miles to the gallon.
Dursky says there is also growing interest in Scooters. "They're not like the mopeds used to be. They are fuel efficient, stylish, cool and fun to ride."
Honda's Ruckus scooter sells for $2,570 and gets 114 miles a gallon.
The PCX scooter is highway legal and can do 60 miles an hour. Price tag is $3449 and it gets 103 MPG.
The Metropolitan scooter is most affordable at $1,999 getting 117 MPG
The Progressive International Motorcycle show runs through Sunday.
