PRICE HILL (FOX19) -
A local girl hoping to better the lives of sick children in the Tri-State held a fundraiser on Tuesday doing what she does best: Knitting.
Kailey Ray started 'Kai's Love Hats', a project which combines her love of American Girl Dolls and helping others. With the help of friends and family, she knits hat sets for girls and their dolls, and then sells each set for $10.
The money raised in the project is used to help her purchase American Girl Dolls for patients at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
On Tuesday, a fundraiser called 'Loomapalooza' was held at Price Hill Chili. For four hours, attendees knitted hat sets for the project.
She plans to donate 9 dolls on her birthday, February 2nd, bringing the total to 53 American Girl Dolls donated to the hospital.
Her goal is to raise enough money to purchase 100 dolls for sick patients.
