Police officer's death in Greensburg ruled suicide


Police have determined that the shooting death of a police officer in Greensburg was a suicide.

According to the Indiana State Patrol, police were called to the 1700 block of North Tyrel West around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found the body of 42-year-old Larry Dance.

The Greensburg Police Department gave the following statement concerning Dance's death: "We are deeply saddened at this sudden, unexpected death of Larry. He has been an officer with our agency since January 1, 1995. Larry was always a professional and loved his job and cared about the people and community he served and will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife and two teenage daughters."
