FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

Florence firefighters rescued a dog from an icy lake on Sunday morning.

Ali, a 1-year-old husky mix, wandered out on a frozen pond and fell through the ice near the center. The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m on Lakeside Drive.

According to reports, crews were unable to reach Ali using conventional means upon arrival. Fire crews on the scene called the Northern Ky. Technical Rescue Team for assistance.

When the team arrived, firefighters put on ice rescue suits and retrieved Ali from danger.

Ali was returned to her owner and is expected to be in good health.
