Students in College Hill started the week off by helping to make a difference in their community.
Students at Eden Grove Academy presented a $490 check to Christ's Community on Monday, an outreach of several churches serving the neighborhood of College Hill.
The kids raised the money by paying $2 for soup, bread and water at lunchtime on Tuesdays.
Eden Grove Principal, Char Harville, expected to raise about $200 from the fundraiser, but was pleasantly surprised by the outcome.
"One of our things here is really to begin to instill in our students the desire to give back to our community, and so to see them get this involved and be this excited about it is a real good feeling for us," said Harville.
Eden Grove Academy is a Christian-based grade school, with 97 students in attendance.
