An Ohio man has been convicted for a second time of stabbing his paraplegic girlfriend to death in a West Virginia motel room. Yesterday, a jury convicted Yassir Abdelhaq, of the Cleveland suburb of Lakewood, of first-degree murder. Abdelhaq was charged with stabbing Dana Tozer 233 times in November 1999. Tozer was also from Lakewood. Abdelhaq's initial conviction was overturned in 2003 because an investigating police officer was on the grand jury that indicted him. The jury returns today and is expected to decide if Abdelhaq should be sentenced to life in prison with or without mercy. A "with-mercy" verdict would make him eligible for parole after serving 15 years.
