TUCSON, AZ (AP) -
A Tucson woman has been sentenced to three years' probation for stealing more than $1,400 in jewelry and cash from a stroke victim she was caring for.
Pima County prosecutors say 33-year-old Dora Lizet Miranda also was told by a judge that she can't work for any vulnerable adult while on probation.
The husband of a 59-year-old wheelchair-bound stroke victim called police in January 2012 when he noticed rings and cash missing from his home.
He confronted Miranda -- his wife's caregiver -- who denied stealing anything and fled.
The Arizona Daily Star says Miranda later admitted to police that she pawned the rings. The items were later recovered.
Miranda was indicted on theft and trafficking in stolen property.
She pleaded guilty to theft/financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult.
