Woman dies in Mt. Orab fire early Saturday

MT. ORAB, OH (FOX19) -

One woman is dead after an early morning fire in Mt. Orab.

Mt. Orab Police received reports of the fire around 1:45 a.m Saturday on Eastwood Road. One victim was reportedly still in the house.

Police arriving at the scene described the house as being fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters began searching for the victim and extinguishing the flames. Williamsburg Township Emergency Crews and the Fayetteville Fire Department were called to assist in bringing the fire under control.

Firefighters discovered the body of a 62-year-old woman while distinguishing hotspots inside the house.

The Brown County coroner denitrified the woman killed in the blaze as Diana Monoskie.

The fire is currently under investigation. Damages are estimated at $90 thousand.
