Silver alert issued for missing elderly woman

WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Waterbury have issued a silver alert for a missing elderly woman.

Police said Fadiana Padilla, 77, of Waterbury was last seen around noon Friday in the area of 42 Pine Street.

She was wearing a black blouse and a black head scarf.

Padilla is described by police as a black woman with black hair and brown eyes. She stands about 5'3'' and weighs about 160 pounds.

According to authorities, Padilla may be traveling to New York City by public transportation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Waterbury police.
