SAGINAW, MI (WNEM/AP) -

Several inches of snow has fallen on parts of Mid-Michigan from a winter storm that roared through the Midwest and is continuing its path to the northeast.

TV5 Meteorologist Lauren Fahrenkrug says just over 4 inches of snow has been reported Friday morning in Saginaw. The National Weather Service says nearly 3 inches was reported in the Detroit area.

About 6 inches has been reported in Gratiot County's Breckenridge.

The snow is expected to change to freezing drizzle in some areas.

Parts of the Upper Peninsula could get 3 to 5 inches of snow by the time the storm wraps up. That follows a strong storm earlier in the week that dumped more than 20 inches of snow on parts of the UP, closing roads and schools.

Below are official snow totals from around Mid-Michigan in inches:

  • Saginaw: 4.8
  • Fint: 2.3
  • Midland: 4
  • Bay City: 3.5
  • Au Gres: 3

  • Sandusky: 1
  • Burton: 3.6
