TriHealth Heart Institute hosts the annual black-tie gala to benefit the American Heart Association. Funds raised will go toward the American Heart Association's research and public awareness program. The program strives to reduce death from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20% by the year 2020.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Cincinnati.
Last year, for every dollar raised in Cincinnati, $1.50 was returned to fund more than $3 million in research at University Hospital and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
