Grandma's prune pie

Recipe from Timothy Kelly of Illinois

24 or 25 Graham Crackers
1 pkg pitted prunes
1/4 c. brandy
1 carton heavy whipping cream
1 stick margarine or butter

Place prunes and brandy in water and bring to a boil until prunes plump. Remove prunes from liquid and let cool. Reserve liquid.

Crush the graham crackers until fine and place in 9" pie plate. Melt margarine or butter and pour over crackers. Work crackers until moist and conform to contour of pie plate.

Cut up the cooled prunes and turn into crust. Add 2 tbsp of reserved liquid to top of pie to keep it moist. Bake at 325 degrees for about 20 or 30 min, until golden brown.

Before serving, whip the whipping cream and serve.

*You can also substitute apricots for the prunes or use a dried mixture of fruits. Make the same way.

Everyone's sauce recipe is different. This one is more Sicilian and was handed down from my grandparents. The key is no exact measurements just flavor with ingredients below to taste.  In a large pot
