Doctor connected to homes searched in anthrax probe facing assault charge

A doctor connected to a search of homes in the anthrax investigation has been charged with assault. Authorities say Doctor Kenneth Berry fought with four family members at a New Jersey motel just hours after the raids. He was arrested yesterday afternoon and released after posting ten-thousand-dollars bail. Several hours before Berry's arrest, authorities searched his parents' summer home in New Jersey and two homes in New York state. Those two homes are listed in property records as Berry's past and present addresses. Berry's father tells the Star-Ledger of Newark that his son is "being shafted by the FBI." In 1997, Kenneth Berry founded an organization that trains medical professionals to respond to chemical and biological attacks.
