Lidle Traded To Philadelphia

Reds trade pitcher Cory Lidle to Phillies for three players

The Cincinnati Reds say they have traded right-handed starter Cory Lidle to the Philadelphia Phillies. In exchange, the Reds received two minor-leaguers and a player to be named later. The Reds said they obtained outfielder Javon Moran and left-handed pitcher Joe Wilson in exchange for Lidle. The Reds plan to fill Lidle's roster spot prior to tomorrow night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 32-year-old Lidle had pitched yesterday for Cincinnati. He was seven-and-ten for the Reds with a five-point-32 earned run average in 24 starts. Lidle is to be a free agent following this season.

The Phillies entered play today five and one-half games behind Atlanta in the NL East race. The Reds had fallen to 18 and one-half games back of NL Central leader St. Louis.
