President Bush has made his decision on who'll head the CIA. A senior White House official says Bush has chosen Florida Congressman Porter Goss. The president plans to announce the selection at the White House this morning. Goss is the head of the House intelligence committee. His name had been mentioned prominently in speculation about a successor to departed CIA Director George Tenet.

Bush's decision to name a new director comes after he accepted a key recommendation of the commission that investigated the Nine-Eleven terror attacks. The panel says the US needs a new intelligence chief to oversee the CIA and more than a dozen intelligence agencies.
